Permit cancelled
Canada had cancelled a permit for the export of nuclear equipment to India, the Indian Prime Minister (Mrs Gandhi) told Parliament yesterday. Her written reply to a question in the Lower House, said that Canada appeared to have taken this step in view of the peaceful nuclear experiment done by India last May.—New Delhi, Feb. 20. Living costs up Thailand’s cost of living rose 16 per cent during 1974, the second-largest rise in the country’s history. Prices rose by a record 18 per cent in 1973.—Bangkok, Feb. 20.
