Afro-Arab discord
(N.Z.PA.-Reuter—Copyright) ADDIS ABABA, Feb. 20.
The Organisation of African Unity is today faced with sharp disagreement between Arab and African memberStates over co-operation and the distribution of funds from Arab oil-producers.
Conference sources say that Foreign Ministers from (every black African country except Guinea are particularly wary of any arrangement which ties Africa to the political problems of the Arab world.
A proposed co-operation ! agreement, drawn up by the secretariat of the organisation with support from the Arab League, is considered to be touching too closely on the sovereignty of member States. It links the two blocs in a loosely-defined relationship which covers a wide area in political, economic and social fields, the sources say.
