Land valuation
Sir, — I am concerned at the recent increased land values approved by local bodies, truly today’s funny story if not for the many immoral complications involved. I have a river-bor-dered farm of high assessed dollar value saleable to some unsuspecting person. If I ‘should sell this and Mother (Nature repeats in the MalI vem Hills what happened at Peel Forest recently, the farm will be somewhere down the Selwyn. What then {of the conscience of myself and those who sanctioned such a ruinous deal by stat-1 ute? The world situation exi plains that our dollar value lof time and goods usurps (n oral justice and is a crime (against humanity’s deprived millions because costs debar them from sharing our plenty. — Yours, etc., W. OAKLEY. February 15, 1975. i
