Cycling titles for cash
Denton Park will be the I venue of another set of Canterbury-hard track cycling championships on . Saturday — the open cash I titles. I There will be nine events. I involving 52 entrants from Timaru, Ashburton. Rangiora 'and Hornby. ' The event which might attract the most interest is the 4000 m team pursuit. South Canterbury, the 1974 New Zealand champion, will meet strong opposition from MidCanterbury and Canterbury, and the latter is reported to be quite confident of victory. Its leading senior riders, Frank Hooper and Clayton Yaxley, have been supplemented recently by Russell iNant — a Commonwealth Games rider a year ago — Errol Thurlow. Kevin RadIbumd. and John Delore, all i former amateur cyclists.
