Hill landowners at Halswell had responded poorly to a request for reports on progress in clearing their noxious weeds, the inspector (Mr R. F. Forsythe) told a meeting of the Paparua County Rural District Council yesterday. He said that only 10 returns had come from the 22 requests sent out. He proposed to take further action.
Rubbish.— More information was called for on a proposal to have a rural rubbish collection, the chairman Cr A. Y. Shuker) saying the scheme could cost $9OOO a year.
Sealing.— The Ministry of Works was asked to consider the sealing on the verges of the Main South Road beyond the Islington Hotel.
Worsleys Road.—A. petition asked for sealing to be done on the metal section of Worsleys Road. The request was referred to the estimates meeting.
