Flooding in the upper Selwyn River last week caused this damage to the ford near Hororata. The concrete ford has slumped near the western bank, and large pieces of steel reinforcing have been exposed. Malvern County Council staff began cutting away the steel yesterday, and new concrete will be poured to restore the ford.
