Aust. visit by Tito
(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) DUBROVNIK (Jugoslavia), President Tito of Jugoslavia might visit Australia later this year. A communique issued by the Australian Prime Minister (Mr Whitlam) today after two days of talks with the Jugoslav Prime Minister (Mr Bijedic) and President Tito, said the invitation to visit Australia had been accepted. No date had been set. Australian officials indicated the visit would be later this year. Mr Whitlam flew from Dubrovnik today for Leningrad. On Tuesday, he will fly to Moscow, where he will be officially welcomed to Russia by the Chairman of the Soviet Council .of Ministers (Mr Kosygin), with whom he will have talks later in the day.
Topics Mr Whitlam plans to discuss with Mr Kosygin include the possible migration of Russian Jews to Australia, the Naval build-up in the Indian Ocean, long-term beef contracts, and the fate of the Ukranian historian, Valentin Moroz, who is believed to be on a hunger strike in a Russian prison.
Pakistan bomb A bomb has damaged the house of the Home Minister of the North-West Frontier Province (Mr Haya Mohammed Khan), in the village of Sherpao. The Minister was not at home, and no-one was injured. A spate of bomb blasts in the province in the last - few months has been blamed on secessionist groups. — Rawalpindi, Jan. 13.
