$18,690 in suitcase

AUCKLAND, January 12. A Parnell accountant, William Cosgrove Irvine, aged 31, will appear in the Otahuhu Magistrate’s Court charged with stealing a cheque from his employer, Colson Builders, Ltd. Irvine, who was arrested at Auckland Airport on Friday night, first appeared in Court yesterday morning and was remanded without plea in custody until tomorrow. Detectives at the airport took possession of $18,690 found in a suitcase.
