BIRTH
The New Zealand-born actress, Nyree Dawn Porter, has given birth to her first baby — a girl, says a London message. The 38-year-old star who played Irene in the “Forsyte Saga” said: “I am terribly tired but I feel fine.”
Miss Porter gave birth to the child in Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, Fulham, last night and the news was immediately given to her constant companion, 28-ycar-old actor, Robin Halstead. Miss Porter had no children during her 11-year marriage to Byron O’Leary, an actor who died accidently from a drug overdose in 1970. She met Halstead, then a little-known actor, about a year after her husband died. Halstead has since had television successes of his own, with roles in “Anne of Green Gables,” ‘Doctor in Charge” and “Some Mothers do ’ave ’em.”
