Chileans go into exile

After hugging and kissing their families farewell, the former Foreign Minister, Mr Clodomiro Almeyda, and four other political prisoners freed by the Chilean military junta, flew off to exile in Rumania yesterday.
Mr Almeyda, aged 52, perhaps the best-known political prisoner held by the military Government, and the others were placed aboard a Lufthansa airliner.
With Mr Almeyda were the former Minister of Education, Mr Jorge Tapia, the former Superintendent of Customs. Mr Leopoldo Zuljevic, and two other prisoners ordered deported, Messrs Maximo Tacchi and Luis Enrique Munoz Schultz.
