PARIS, Jan. 11.
A New Zealand woman, Judith Montrowe, was today given a 15-month gaol sentence for her part in smuggling 421 b of hashish. Lebanese-bom Mussapha Mussa, who was arrested last February with Miss Montrowe at Oriy Airport on a flight from Damascus to Amsterdam, was given a three-year sentence. Both were fined a total of $44,250. Miss Montrowe has spent 10 months in detention awaiting trial and so will now only have five months of her sentence to serve, a New Zealand Embassy spokesman said. She was also declared a prohibited immigrant which means that she will be forbidden entry to France after completing her sentence, the spokesman said. Her father, Roy Montrowe, of Remuera Road, Auckland, was present in court for today’s verdict. He is an airline pilot with the National Airways Corporation.
