Gold for two N.Z. boxers
(N.Z. Freis Assn —Copyright) PAPEETE. The New Zealand boxers, W. Byrne and D. Wilson, will arrive home today with a gold medal each from the Oceania amateur championships. Byrne claimed the light heavy-weight title with a second-round knock-out of T. Veto (Fiji). Wilson, a southpaw, won his medal with a points decision over the Australian, J. Frogg. Bryne, one of the crowdpleasers of the championships, will be invited back for a tournament in Tahiti next year. Australian boxers shared six gold medals, with Queensland (3 gold, 1 silver, 4 bronze) taking the team trophy from New South Wales (3 gold, 1 silver).
