Contenders for title

(N .Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) BUENOS AIRES.

The Argentinian, Victor Galindez, won the vacant World Boxing Association light heavy-weight title yesterday when his opponent, Len Hutchins (United States), retired after 12 bruising rounds of a scheduled 15-round contest.

The win clears the way for a deciding bout between Galindez and John Gonteh (Britain), holder of the World Boxing Council version of the light heavyweight title.

Both versions became vacant when Bob Foster (United States) retired earlier this year. Conteh won the W.B.C. version by beating another Argentinian, Jorge Ahumada, on points in October.
