$l900 raised at fair
Money raised at a fair run by the Methodist Central Mission on Saturday for its new geriatric unit at Fairhaven, Harewood Road, was almost twice the amount raised last year. The total raised on Saturday was $l9OO, although expenses ' have yet to be deducted. The amount raised last year was about $lOOO. No figure is yet available for the mystery envelope appeal held on Friday. The Rev. W. E. Falkingham, superintendent of the Methodist Central Mission, said the bus-drivers’ strike would have affected the sales.
