Pupils’ movie missing
A movie film which contains performances by what must be some of New Zealand’s youngest actors and actresses is missing — and it was imperative that the premiere be held by the end of the year. The performers are pupils at the Wairio School, No. 1 R.D., Otautau, Southland. It appears that the Wairio School Committee bought an Bmm movie film for the pupils, who made up several small acts and then played in them as well. The first act deals with four girls and a cat on a sofa, watching television. In another, two little boys rob a bank; and there are other sequences of children playing squares. Once filming had been completed, the film was sent to be developed but has not yet arrived back. The school thinks its film might have been mixed up with somebody else’s. The children appeal for the return of the developed film. They would like to have it back by the end of the year, as the Form II pupils will then leave for high school. So far, their attempts to trace it have been unsuccessful.
