Ford rebukes general
(N.Z.P. A.‘Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON. President Ford has publicly rebuked the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (General George Brown) for remarks widely viewed as a slur against American Jews and Israel. General Brown said in a recent speech that the Jewish lobby was so strong that it apparently controlled Congress. He said that the Jews I “own. you know, the banks in this country, the newspapers. Just look at where the Jewish money is in this country.” Mr Ford dissociated himself from the remarks, saying that they did not represent the views of any other senior official in his Administration.
