Strawberry shortcakes

Individual strawberry; shortcakes served warm with whipped cream make another tasty sweet to remember while these berry fruits are in season. The recipe makes 8 to 10 cakas. You will need:— 2 cups flour 3 teaspoons baking powder i teaspoon salt i 6 tablespoons sugar (or a little less) •J cup butter i egg 1 cup milk Fresh strawberries, about I cup Icing sugar. Method: Slice strawberries land sweaten with icing sugar; set aside in refrigerator. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Combine sugar, butter and egg and beat until creamy, add milk and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients, mixing and beating well. Pour batter into well greased patty pans and bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Spoon the sweetened strawberries over the warm shortcakes and serve with whipped cream. /
