N.Z. car team fourth
(N.Z. Preat A»n—Copyright; NOUMEA (New Caledonia). Only 10 cars remained of the original 27 starters in the 3000-kilometre New Caledonia Safari after the completion of the first division. A New Zealand team of Robson and Rolfe in a Ford Escort are the only ones left of three New Zealand entries in the four day race. They are fourth. Leading the event are the French team of Pangnuti and Wber, second are two New Caledonians, Trautman and Gauzere, and third are two Frenchmen, Due Lacosse, and Todd.
The race is expected to finish on Sunday afternoon, and organisers said that only three or four teams are likely to complete, the gruelling course.
