The position calls for an appointee with a good knowledge of procedures relevant to the settling of industrial disputes. Experience in the interpretation of collective agreements of the Industrial Commission is desirable. Ability to maintain good relationships with employers’ and workers’ organisations is essential and good personality and appearance are important. The appointee will be located in Christchurch but will be required to chair conciliation proceedings in other centres from time to time. Appointment will be for the statutory term of three years and a successful appointee will be eligible for reappointment for further terms. Salary will depend on qualifications and experience and the commencing rate will be up to $9668 a year. The appointee will be required to commence duties in February 1975.
