Treason charges
Thirty-two men went on trial in Maseru yesterday, accused of attempting to overthrow the Lesotho Government by force. The men, alleged supporters of the opposition Basotholand Congress Party, all pleaded not guilty to the charge of high treason. The prosecution alleged that last January the men took part in armed attacks on police stations, in which about 50 people were reported to have been killed. — Maseru (Lesotho), 'November 15.
