Geary (Timaru), carried out several manoeuvres with two tractors lent by the International Harvester Company, Ltd.
working on a points system for time and slight driving faults, the men were required to back a four-wheeled trailer and use the hydraulic equipment to push a small ball and to drop a brick into a ring from a raised bucket.
M. Costello won the event, and was presented with a $2O cash prize and a miniature trophy of a tractor. Mr Geary was second and Mr Jordan third. The competition was sponsored by the National Safety Association to promote the safe use of farm tractors.
