Russian Jews protest to U.S.
f.V.Z. Press Assn—Copyriyht) MOSCOW, October 27. Three hunger-striking Russian Jews say in a letter to American leaders that the Soviet Union authorities are already breaking their agreement to relax restrictions on emigration from the Soviet Union.
A film cameraman. Mik- j hail Suslov, a scriptwriter.; Felix Kandel, and a journal-' ist, Yevgeny Baras, make; their allegation in an open! letter to the American Secretary of State (Dr Henry Kissinger) and Senator Henry Jackson, who were the principal negotiators of the United States-Soviet agreement announced last Friday. The letter, made available to Western journalists, says: “One of the main points of the agreement is an immediate end to the harrassment of persons who apply for documents to leave . . . The authorities have cut off Mr; Suslov’s telephone and that'; of friends after the three began a 12-day hunger strike seven days ago ... A call to Los Angeles was broken off. and a call to London; was never connected. Friends who tried to telephone the hunger-strikers. Cid not get through."
