Amalgamated Batteries profit down
(N.Z. Press .4sso< lution) WELLINGTON. The group net profit of Amalgamated Batteries Lid, Christchurch fell from $136,994 to $107,346 in the year to August 31. The result is subject to audit. A final dividend of 81 per cent on ordinary and preference shares maintains last year’s annual rate of 13 J per cent. The directors consider that the result is satisfactory, having regard to production and staffing difficulties, and the substantial fluctuations in prices of raw materials experienced during the year.
