FOREST SERVICE invites applicants for Junior Woodsmen positions. Applicants should be physically fit and of 16 to 18 years of age with two to three years of secondary education. A strong outdoor interest is desirable. Training will commence in January, 1975, at one of the four training schools located at Aupouri Forest near Kaitaia, Kaingaroa Forest near Rotorua, Golden Downs Forest near Nelson, and Berwick Forest near Dunedin. The training period is for three years, two years at one of the above schools and one year on other training forests. Training is arranged to provide a complete rotation of all essential forestry work to develop practical skills. Following training woodsmen fill staff positions with the N.Z. Forest Service in a wide range of forestry operations throughout New Zealand. Applications should be made on Form F.S.J. 10, obtainable from any office of the N.Z.
