Loss to Australia
The Australian Minister of j Agriculture (Senator Kenneth Wreidt), returned from meat and wool talks in Japan bringing bad news for farmers but good news for the consumer: “The chances of selling more meat and wool to Japan before the middle of next year are negligible, but this should mean lower meat prices in Australia,” he said. Senator Wreidt accused Japan of reneging on a trade agreement. The loss of trade would cost Australia up to sAust27om |in the next year, he said, ! adding: “Both sides of a partnership have to work in good faith.”
