Mulvena’s Pride qualifies in fast time

Mulvena's Pride recorded the fastest time of 3min 14 2-ssec for 2400 m among the 17 pacers to qualify at totalisator meetings at trials held at Addington Raceway yesterday.

A member of the Prebbletonl team of S. Ballantyne, he is raced by Mrs G. McCosker, of Ashburton, and is a three-year-old gelding by Armbro Del from l Mulvena Ellen. The best time among only three trotters to qualify was 3min 23 3-ssec by Alias Armbro, j which shaded Nigel Craig. Allas i Armbro, a three-year-old colt by I Armbro Del from Charming l Widow, is trained at Bumham j bv B. R. Gliddon for Messrs 8.l W. Crofts and G. E. Pilkington. A cold easterly wind made conditions difficult for qualifying, but taken all round, the standard was not particularly high. Results: —
