Woman Jaycee to stay on
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. New Zealand’s first woman jaycee, Mrs Angelo Ho, of Hawera, has changed her mind about resigning from the Hawera chapter as a result of the national conference decision not to admit women.
Mrs Ho said she had decided that a more positive protest would be to work within the Hawera chapter for the removal of discrimination against women. She said she realised now that the national conference had not actually banned women from Jaycee. It had been a straight yes or no decision and it finally amounted to a continuation of the status quo.
