Sir, — In reply to Andrea W. Wildes I would suggest that the average investor (if there is such an animal) is frequently “tempted and dazzled” by high interest rates appearing in advertisements and prospectuses, which satisfy the inadequate requirements of the Companies Act. Advertisements and prospectuses are part of our “present economic problems” and Dr Finlay’s interest in this area is fully justified. —Yours, etc., SIMON RUTHERFORD. October 12, 1974.
