Mr Manson elected
A Mount Herbert county councillor who on election night failed to get enough votes for re-election has, after the counting of special votes, been re-elected. Mr C. C. Manson got 149 votes in the final result, the lowest polling member to be elected in the Port Victoria riding of the county. The election-night results had Mr K. T. Marriott, a newcomer, ahead of Mr Manson by 119 votes to 104.
The final results are:— B. S. Johns 331, J. F. Brockhurst 218, G.M.M. Couch 168, C. C. Manson 149. (Elected). K. T. Marriott 138, C. Wallis 137, M. A. Radcliffe 123, G. D. Kirk 114, E. R. Radcliffe 99, Mrs J. D. P. Keer-Keer 68.
