Sir, —Now that the Citi- , zens’ Association, and its , supporters, have succeeded in ; toppling the man they dis- , liked so much, perhaps ordin- ( ary ratepayers can look for- ( ward to an end to the sour : grapes and petty pinpricking , !that was directed against Mr j Pickering during almost the , whole of his term of office. . Although not an ardent fan ( of Mr Pickering, I feel that j he worked hard for Christ- . church City and that he has , accepted his loss with much ( more grace and dignity than ( some of the people he de- s feated in 1971.—Yours, etc., .
