Interest in marae
(From Our Oirn Reporter') WESTPORT, Oct. 11. Buller people seem interested in establishing a Maori marae in the Greymouth area. About 18 local people attended a meeting recently to discuss combining with a Greymouth Maori group on the marae project. The Greymouth group has already begun fund raising and sought the co-operation of Maoris in the Buller area. The Westport group, which includes pakehas, has formed a sub-committee of three, and will hold a further meeting in the Returned Services Association rooms this afternoon. Anyone interested, Maori or pakeha, is cordially invited to attend.
