Wool down 44 p.c.
Average prices at the last Christchurch wool sale on October 3 were 44 per cent lower than a year ago. The average price was 95.2806 c per kg, 75.4 c lower than at the October sale last I year. The average for the 'Christchurch sale in August was 83.6963 c, but this figure is not strictly comparable with this month's sale because of the large offering of crutchings at the August auction. At this months sale. 2,151.486 kg of wool in 14.629 hales were sold for $2,049,949.87. The average price per bale was §14013.
