Largest weekly rally ever i The Wall Street stock ■ market made a good recovj ery last week. In spite of I some profit taking on sevI era! days, the Dow Jones I average closed on Friday at 658.17 for a gain of 73.61 points — its largest weekly gain ever. The last time the market produced a surge of such proportions was in May, 1970, when the Dow bounced off the bottom of the 196970 bear market.
The market was spurred mainly by signs of an easing in credit, and hopes that President Ford’s new economic proposals would ease the country’s economic troubles.
