Property sales
A three-acre property with a Summerhill stope house, at 215 Johns Road, was passed in at $51,000 at auction yesterday. The Government valuation (1971) was $17,500. The auctioneer was Mr L. B. Allan of Matson and Allan Real Estate, Ltd. A two-bedroom brick bungalow on 29 perches of land at 21 George Street, Riccarton, was passed in at $18,750 when it >was auction by Mr A. M. T. Sprott, of Simes and Company, Ltd. The Government valuation (1971) was $6950. Four central commercial properties will be offered by one vendor at a sale on October 22. Three of the four are fully-let commercial buildings, and the fourth is a Tuam Street car sales yard and car park. One of the buildings is a two-storey modernised brick building in Colombo Street, occupying 25 perches. Until 1971, it was the trading premises of Butler Cycle and Motor Company, Ltd. The other two buildings are on adjoining titles in Lichfield Street, and occupy 37 perches.
Women's solf. — Pennant matches played by the Canter, bury District Ladies’ Golf Association resulted: Silver division, 36 holes: Templeton won in a play-off from Ranglora and Avondale. Bronze division, 36 holes: Christchurch won a play-off from Russley and Avoridale. 18-hole pennant: Burnham won a playoff with Akaroa, Charteris Bay, Coringa and Templeton.
