‘No Litter Month ' floral show
Mrs Clare Crawford (right), president of the Christchurch Civic Pride Committee, and Mrs Pat Aitken, publicity chairman, went to the Town Hall yesterday to look at a floral arrangement on display to publicise “No Litter Month.” The attractive arrangement is made up of many varieties of flowers and plants, including redpainted lilies, cream car-
nations, ivy, euphorbia, . flax, and spruce. “No Litter Month,” which has been organised by the women of the Civic Pride Committee, began yesterday, and Mrs Crawford said that already Cathedral Square looked much cleaner. This was due largely to the efforts of the Square’s litter collector, she said.
Another floral arrangement is on display in the Square, and women from the committee are handing out stickers to make people aware of the “Clean Christchurch” campaign, rwo women in the Square yesterday donated money to the committee when Mrs Aitken asked them if they would wear a sticker.
