P.M. likely to go to Iran
(.V.2. Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 1. The Prime Minister (Mr Rowling) is likely to visit Iran “in the near future.” A joint communique issued after the State visit of the Shah of Iran said that the Iranian Prime Minister and the Shah hoped that the> visit would take place soon. The communique said Mr Rowling “expressed hvs pleasure at this proposal.” Dates of the visit will be determined later. FELLOWSHIPS New Zealand will offer Iran 10 fellowships annually for a variety of training courses in this country, particularly in agriculture. The communique said Iran could play “a significant role” in supplying New Zealand with petroleum and petrochemical products. “It was recognised that New Zealand could play an important long-term role in ; supplying Iran with forestry and agricultural products, including sheepmeat, dairy products and other foodstuffs as well as wool,” the I communique said. Under the trade agreement; the two Governments would take all appropriate measures to “facilitate, strengthen and diversify trade and to encourage technical and economic co-operation.”
