Survey about leisure
A survey of the leisuretime needs of people in western Christchurch will be conducted by the newly formed Leisure Activity Centre. The centre was formed to investigate leisure activities in the Upper Riccarton, Hornby, and Halswell areas. It was important that mothers and solo parents had the opportunity to take part in leisure activities and recreation, said the executive committee’s public relations officer (Mrs D. McClymont). Provision of recreational activities for young people was also important, as the area was expected to have many teen-age people in two years. Questionnaires will probably be circulated to residents, asking them what further leisure activities they would like.
