VIEWERS’ VIEWS
"STUDIO ONE"
I am moved to wonder what dispensation “Studio One” is allowed that runs well over its scheduled time? This happened in the last series and the first one of the present lot was 13 minutes late in finishing. Surely if the natural embarrassment ■of amateur talent requires tender treatment, it would < be better to allot 45 minutes] to this programme and have] done with it. rather than to j keep viewers with adult. tastes waiting for the] appearance of Alistair] Cooke in what is perhaps] one of the most brilliant; documentaries to be shown] iupon our screens? — CARACTACUS “WORLD AT WAR" I support Margaret QuanItock’s difficulty in forgiving ;and forgetting the Japanese, lit is difficult to forgive Germany, Italy, France and Spain, Russia, Turkey, the I Netherlands and China, > America, South Africa, , Afghanistan etc., etc., not to mention the Maori wars. And 1 shall never forget the] ; Norman conquest. 1 don’t | suppose anyone forgets or, 1 forgives us either. — EDITH BALMAIN
