The New Zealandtr. O. Parun, had no difficulty winning his first-round singles match in the United States open tennis championships yesterday. Parun beat an American, E. Friedlander, 6-1. 6-1, 6-1. Form held up well on the first day as all nine seeded players who completed their men’s singles matches advanced without losing a set.
