(JfX Press Association) WELLINGTON. A now members' stand tor Hutt Park looks mush closer te reality Mtowlfig progress on the venture as reported by Mr L A McKenzie at the recent annual meeting of the Wellington Trotting Club. Mr McKenzie told members that the biggest bone of contention orer the last few years had been lack of facilities for members. He said that at annual meetings, members had requested the committee to look at the question of a new members’ stand. Some time ago, a design tor a members' stand at Hutt Park was displayed to members and received approval In principle. When detailed costing was made It was found the building and anclllarv facilities would cost about Sim. “It was quite obvious that this wa« bevood the scope of your club. Proposals were received and considered to extend out the back of the present members’ and stewards’ stand, or extend another section on the public grandstand. Al! of these were costly and did not guaran-
tee an over-all building design for Hutt Park,” Mr McKenzie said. Mr McKenzie said that another firm of consultants had been employed to plan an over-all development of the raceway with priority for members. “We now have a comprehensive report showing the development of grandstand accommodation at Hutt Park to take care of future growth and requirements,” said Mr McKenzie. "Sketch drawings of members’ accommodation tn the first section of the over-all development! have been commissioned and these are to be based on the project uot costing more than $300,000.”
