Some good gains on firm Australian markets
Australian sharemarkets closed on a sharply higher note yesterday, with several sections scoring some substantial gains in quiet trading.
Gold shares featured among the miners, and BH South sprang into prominence with a large gain to sell at 230 c.
B.H.P. gained 8c to 570 c, and Comalco put on 4c to 132 c.
Banks were mixed, retailers weaker, and oils were generally disregarded. SYDNEY
