I would move a resolution tomorrow so that the House could sit early. If he decided not to take urgency the House would rise at its normal adjournment time, 10.30 p.m. Mr Kirk took urgency on Friday, and the House continued sitting to midnight on Saturday. Thirty-three clauses of the bill are still to be approved. Mr Kirk said he wanted the
committee stages completed] by the end of the week. Asked whether he would, have the House sitting onSaturday again, Mr Kirk said he expected the committee stages to be finished before then, but if the Opposition decided it needed more time, “then I suppose I am duty bound to provide it.” Mr Kirk said he wanted to have the bill passed through its remaining stages by the end of the month. a
