Bomb plot foiled

A bomb attack against a i seaside hotel was foiled when Northern Irish security forces stopped a car carrying milk churns packed with 12001 b of explosives this morning. I Three masked men had iheld up the car. loaded the! i explosives, and ordered the driver to head for the sea--side town of Newcastle, south of Belfast, and leave; it near the Arlington Hotel j there. They held the driver’s i girl-friend as hostage. The man was stopped by a natrol of the Ulster Defence' Regiment, and the bomb was; discovered and detonated. The girl was released un-i harmed. 1
