EVEREST SQUARE
(By CELIA TIMMS) Everest Square is a crunchy, fruity concoction to eat with tea or coffee. It re quires no cooking. You will need: i lb vegetable shortening 1 cup Icing sugar 1 cup coconut 1 cup sultanas (or mixed fruit) 1 cup rice bubbles 1 cup full cream milk powder. Vanilla essence to taste. Method: Melt shortening and add sifted icing sugar and milk powder. Mix thoroughly. Combine remaining ingredients and pour the liquid over them. Press into a greased sponge roll tin and 'cut into squares when set.
