Film festival in Chch
Many inquiries have been received from overseas competitors about the Christchurch International Amateur Film Festival for 1974, according to the festival secretary (Mrs R. Kent). The festival is the only one on the New Zealand arts calendar and is recognised as a major world event. Members of the Photographic Society of America will receive credits for successes ih it.
A class C category has been adopted by the festival, which means that wide-gauge and commercial films are the only restricted ones. Entries will close on September 30, several having already been received. Selections from the awards will be publicly screened in Christchurch on November 2 and 4, and subsequently throughout New Zealand.
