With New Zealand and; Great Britain each having! had a victory, the third and| final Rugby league test! today promises to be a compelling and fiercely competitive encounter. “Grandstand” will screen the second half of this match live from Carlaw Park, Auckland at 3.15 p.m. The third day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting at Riccarton features the Grand National [Hurdles. This is scheduled for 2.15 p.m., and other races to be covered are the [August Handicap, the Islington Handicap and the Redcliffs Handicap. Australia’s Steven Knapp clashes with three of New Zealand’s top table tennis players, Richard Lee, James Morris and Gary Murphy, in “Grandstand’s” invitation tournament in Wellington. It is played as a round-robin competition. The table tennis will be on screen at 2.25 p.m. and again at 4.20 p.m. At 3.03 p.m. there will he boxing from Christchurch, where Canterbury’s Sopo Alisara meets the Fijian Aseri Namua in a lightheavyweight bout. “Grandstand” will close on Saturday with a summary of major results from around the country. Sunday’s “Grandstand,” commencing at 3.56 p.m. features the final of the English Rugby league championship, with the Warrington club attempting to complete a clean sweep of the three major English league trophies against St Helens.
