Sewer-pipe imports
(N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM. Licences are being issued for importing water an<; sewer pipes in substantial quantities. The Marlborough Chamber of Commerce has been told this by the Minister of Trade and Industry (M t Freer) in reply to its expression of concern about a shortage of the pipes Contractors’ orders cannot be filled by the manufacturer until the end of next year, the chamber told thi Minister. This was holding up local development. The Minister said that he understood the trade was making a survey to establish the level of demand and achieve an equitable distribution of available pipes
