Another attempt to develop quality spin bowling in New
Zealand cricket will be made in a series of special preseason schools the national coach (Mr M. J. Horton) will hold throughout the country, beginning later this month. In approving the clinics — the Canterbury one will be at the Hagley Sports Centre on August 29 and 30 — the New Zealand Cricket Coun- ' cil’s board of control has } asked the selectors to look especially at spin bowlers. The clinics will be held in each of the six major associa--1 tions; 12 players in the general age group of 16 to 20 being selected for each. I In Canterbury, the players will be chosen by Mr J. W. jGrocott, the Brabin Shield ! selector of the last two years, land Mr P. A. Sharp, who will 'assist Mr Horton with the 1 coaching. _ _____
