Many a slip yesterday

The driver of this car, which skidded and flipped on to its side in Cambridge Terrace, was one of the many victims of the greasy roads in Christchurch yesterday.

The car was rounding a corner when it skidded on the wet road, rebounded off a parked car, and tipped on to its side about 4.15 p.m. "It all happened very suddenly—l did not realise I had hit the other car until I stepped out,” said the driver, Mr Robert Nikolaison. shown in the white jersey at the left of the photograph. Mr Nikolaison escaped injury in the accident, but [about 15 others were injured in collisions, around

the city yesterday, and seven were admitted to hospital. Denise Young, aged 19, of 12 Radbrook Street, suffered head and leg injuries when the van she was driving and a truck collided in Blenheim Road about 3.45 p.m. yesterday. Part of Blenheim Road was blocked for more than half an hour while the truck and trailer were removed. Three persons were injured

when a truck and car collided at the corner ,of Barbadoes and St Asaph Streets about 6.45 a.m. yesterday. Steven Richard Smith, aged 20, of 20 Uxbridge Street, the driver of the car, suffered cuts to the body and was in a fairly satisfactory condition in Christchurch Hospital last evening. Helen Elizabeth Miller, aged 20. of 8 Canon Street, a passenger in the car, suffered head injuries and is in a fairly comfortable condi-

Robert Charles Young, aged 31, the driver of the [truck, suffered chest and ;internal injuries, and is in a comfortable condition.

Patricia Frederick, aged 19, of 17 Penrith Avenue, suffered head and chest injuries when two cars collided at the comer of Colombo and St Asaph Streets about 6 p.m.

Donald Hodge, aged 54. of Castletown Terrace, was injured when his cycle and a car collided in Moorhouse Avenue about 6.30 p.m., and Dorothy Meikle, aged 37, of 43 Mathers Road, was injured when her powercycle hit a parked car in Wrights Road about. 1.40 p.m.

Both suffered moderately serious head injuries, and were admitted to Christchurch Hospital.
