All on a banana
t.V.Z.P.4.-Reuter— Copyright) TARIFA (Spain). A Japanese swimming teacher, Sheichi Nakajima, became the first man to cross the Straits of Gibraltar under water when he completed the 20km. (12.5 miles) crossing from Tarifa to Africa in just over 11 hours wearing frogman’s gear. Nakajima, aged 28, changed his air bottles several times and drank five litres of water during the crossing. His only food was a banana.
